Helping the Club

All club Coaches, Team Managers, Committee Members, and Canteen organisers are completely voluntary positions, with most parents who are doing these roles working also. Please keep this in mind when talking with these people.

The Auskick program in particular has always relied on parents to provide support to ensure the smooth running of the program. This also gives you the opportunity to meet other parents and club members, and pick up new skills for those looking to broaden their horizons.

We have found a formal roster program of helper positions is fairest to plan and allocate these duties. By signing up your child, you have agreed to do participate in these duties. There will be rosters sent out shortly that your are required to do your turn at.

If you are sick or away you need to let me or your team manager know so we can let the coaches know for numbers for games, but it is your responsibility to organise another parent to swap weeks with you- there are plenty of opportunities to meet other parents at training and game days so we encourage you to do this.

The roles include laundry, canteen, BBQ, and time keeper. We also need parents each week to help set up and pack up the oval for games - and we appreciate any offers of help anytime - it doesn’t matter if you don’t know what to do, we will show you and many hands make light work!

Please be prompt when turning up for roster, as if you are late then the whole process is late. A brief description of the duties is included here so please take a moment to familiarise yourself with them and please let us know if you need any clarification.

Laundry: collect jumpers from coaches and take home and wash, then return

Canteen: sell stock, replace stock, make up rolls, lolly bags, wash up, etc.

BBQ: set up BBQ, cook sausages & onions, clean down BBQ, pack away. Set up and pack away sponsor signs.

Time Keeper: Plug in siren. Confirm with coaches that they are ready. Start siren, time for 10 minutes, sound siren for 2 minutes, repeat 3 times. Siren button needs to be pressed for a full minute to allow teams playing on far side of oval to hear. Pack away siren.
